Training of 1-st and 2-nd class radio officers on second-class Radioelectronic

The present program for retraining of the radio officers who have diploma 1 and 2 classes with the maximum marine radio engineering education, having a diploma of the GMDSS operator (GOC), for obtaining of a radio electronic of 2nd class diploma.

As a basis of the main program of radio electronics of 2nd class training is taken, in which hours of classroom lessons, allocated to the issues connected with studying of the GMDSS organization, rules and procedures, are shortened. The participants, obtained the diploma of the GMDSS ship operator in TC with other composition of the equipment, the first part of the program are to study themselves. The State examinations on obtaining of the radio electronic of 2nd class diploma are to be completely examined.

Taking into account the level of theoretical training of the participants obtained by them in marine educational institutions and at the subsequent courses of improvement of qualification, and also the practical skills obtained at service of the ship equipment being the chief of radio station, the primary goals of retraining are the following:

• practical development of procedures of communication on the GMDSS equipment
• studying the structural, and at certain cases, circuit diagrams of the GMDSS equipment
• acquiring of skills of technical operation of ship equipment perfection of practical skills of use of English language both for the purposes of a radio communication, and for repair of the equipment of foreign manufacture
