Mated course Radar observation and plotting simulator and Automatic radar plotting aids simulator
The purpose of the course is practical training of navigators on use of the radar-tracking information received from indicators of a radar and ARPA for the purpose of navigation safety.
The course is intended for training and vocational training of pilots and officers in charge of navigational watch according to the STCW 78/95 requirements and resolution No1 dated 04.01.96. of department of Marine Transport of Russian Federation.
The program is aimed at high-grade practical use of the radar-tracking information with comprehensive knowledge of opportunities and restrictions both of a radar station, and systems of an automated radar-tracking routing at navigation of vessels in conditions of limited visibility.
Tasks of the program cover a number of basic training trends:
- obtaining operating skills of work with the radar-tracking equipment (Radar and ARPA), as well as the lost skills
- knowledge and skill to carry out operation of processing and use of the radar-tracking information
- knowledge and understanding of new normative documents in the field of training
- knowledge of technical operational requirements to the radar-tracking equipment
- mutual communication of manual and automatic ways of processing of the radar-tracking information, purpose of elements of routing, vector communications
- understanding of physical sense of moving of vessels relatively each other in the developing process of their approaching
- knowledge of Radar and ARPA opportunities
- knowledge of typical Radar and ARPA restrictions, their negative influence on reliability
- practical use of Radar and ARPA information
- influence of maneuverable characteristics of a vessel on quality of maneuvering at divergence
